SUMMER MISSION INTERN FOR CAMPBELL FARM

Campbell Farm is a mission station, conference and retreat center on a 40 acre working apple orchard on the Yakama Indian Reservation in Central Washington, owned and operated by the Presbytery of Central Washington. Each summer hundreds of youth come from across the country come to the farm to do mission work projects in the area.

The summer intern will be responsible under the supervision of the Farm Directors to coordinate youth activities and assist in mission station tasks.

Specific duties include:

Greet groups, assign rooms, act as resident manager for groups, orient groups to policies and rules, provide tour of farm, coordinate schedules with youth groups leaders.

Assist with mission station chores, assign chores to groups including work in the garden, animal care, kitchen duty, housekeeping chores, and ensure cleaning facilities before they leave.

Coordination and supervision of work projects in the community and on the farm, work along side youth and leaders, and work out logistics with community partners who have set up projects.

Coordination of recreational activities for youth groups such as swimming, volleyball, baseball, tours of cultural centers, nature outings etc.

Work with the directors and group leaders to coordinate educational activities, bible study, group reflection and debriefing time, games, workshops, speakers, tours of the local food and agriculture system as needed.

Assist in morning and evening worship and campfire circle. Attend staff meetings, facilitate evaluation of each week and contribute to the development of community life on the farm.

Needs to be flexible, willing to work as a team player and help in other general duties as needed. Driver's License required.

Summer intern will demonstrate, teach and encourage young Christians in the practice of their faith, modeling a commitment to Jesus Christ through service, community, multi-cultural understanding, prayer, worship, stewardship and enjoyment of God's creation.

Benefits: Room and Board, plus stipend

Temporary employment: approximately 10- 12 weeks. (June - August)
